General Advertising MADEira for …

1. Advertising in the Enquirer Media and the City Magazine during the year to promote SHOP MADEIRA / MADEira for … FUN, DINNING, STYLE and MORE

2. New yard signs (for all merchants that commit to the full program) in the Blue / Green coloring to promote SHOP MADEIRA / SHOP LOCAL

May 13

Girls Night out …

Attract 300 guests to the City of Madeira. Participating merchants would be listed on invitations mailed and e-vites sent. Party pass ports will direct guests to visit participating merchants. At the end guests would turn in their stamped pass port for a goodie bag. Food and drinks would be provided during the event at various locations.

June 25

Madeira Centennial Bike Race…

This will be a national-caliber bicycle race, attracting professional riders from all over the United States.  Our goal is to increase awareness of Madeira as a welcoming, attractive, compelling place to live, shop and conduct business by exposing people to the town through interesting and fun events, plus celebrate the City of Madeira Centennial.

July or August

Summer SIDEWALK SALE…
Shop, Dine, and save at the annual Madeira Summer Sidewalk Sale! Clear out excess or obsolete inventory and make room for the new.

August 21

Street Dance & Family Fest…

This is a City of Madeira sponsored event … individual businesses will be provided a booth to promote a family friendly activity and sell related products.

Madeira Health Fair…

Opportunity for residents in and around Madeira to enjoy a fun, interactive wellness-focused day - meet with local health providers and learn more about a healthy lifestyle. The target audience will be families and seniors who live in Madeira as well as surrounding communities.

December 4

Shop Madeira / Light up Madeira…

Shop, Dine, take a free Carriage ride and explore the unique shops of Madeira. Enjoy the Lights of Madeira and the music provided by the Madeira City School Music departments.

The last Chamber meeting was held on January 13, 2010; approximately 20 people attended. During the meeting the Chamber membership reviewed and/or discussed the following:

·         Lunch was provided by BRUEGGER'S.

·         We reviewed signage used to promote events and shopping in Madeira; Shop Local yard signs, Participating Merchant yard signs and Street Banners. There was a question about putting a Street Banner on Camargo Road; location of poles to hold a sign is the issue.

·         We reviewed the minutes from the December 9^th meeting.

·         We are working with “STAPLES” to implement the Staples Business Advantage program for all Madeira Chamber of Commerce members.   

·         Membership: Final 2009 YTD 251 / Local 112 / New 128             for the last 30 days  38 / 14 / 12

·         The Madeira Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Unified for Unifat event Jan. 22nd at Madeira High School at 7:15 pm to raise funds for students at Unifat School in Northern Uganda.

·         Chamber website updates are complete; webFEAT did the updates.

·         Steve Shaw was nominated for/voted in as Vice Presidents and Chris Hatcher was nominated for/voted in as Secretary.

·         Reviewed 2010 Events / Advertising - for businesses that choose to participate, the Chamber is planning for five events; Girls Night out in May, Madeira Centennial Criterium Bike Race in June, Summer SIDEWALK SALE in late July or early August, Health Fair in October and Shop Madeira / Light up Madeira in December.

In addition, there will be general advertising in the Enquirer Media and the City Magazine during the year to promote SHOP MADEIRA / MADEria for … FUN, DINNING, STYLE and MORE. New yard signs (for all merchants that commit to the full program) in the Blue / Green coloring to promote SHOP MADEIRA / SHOP LOCAL

·         The Chamber is planning to participate in the; Art Fair in May, Car Show in June, Fireworks in July and Street Dance / Family Fest in August.

The next Chamber meeting will be on Wednesday, February 10^th @ 12:00 p.m. at the Madeira City Hall and TGI Friday’s will be providing the lunch.

We are currently looking for Madeira Chamber of Commerce businesses to host networking events at various locations on the 3^rd Wednesday of each. This event will provide an opportunity to meet, greet, and trade business and marketing ideas  

The next Leads Exchange Luncheon will be on Wednesday; from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; and will be hosted by Gil Hyland from "Cooper Electric" at Madeira City Hall, 7141 Miami Avenue, Madeira OH
